Considering that the elderly-looking Robert Frost was 85 when he recited his poem, "The Gift Outright," at the 1961 Inauguration of President John F. Kennedy, and Frost was 88 years old when he died on January 29, 1963, in this photograph Robert Frost appears to be middle-aged or about 50 years old, so the photograph was probably taken circa 1925 when Frost was teaching at Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts, and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  In the white space beneath his photograph, the Poet has boldly signed his name with his typical fountain-pen-and-black-ink signature and in his unique and inimitable handwriting: "ROBERT FROST" In the lower right-hand corner of the image is printed a copyright symbol, below which is written "copy" and beneath that is printed "PHOTO BY / A. ALLYN BISHOP".  On the back of the photo is printed some pencilled miscellaneous numbers and words including "Allyn Bishop Photo" along with a couple small pieces of white tape in the upper corners.  Early photographs of the Poet are scarce, and Photographs Signed by "Robert Frost" are extremely rare.  Very Good condition and ideal for framing with your favorite Robert Frost poem.
